Aching and swollen joints from both rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA) are constant reminders of the impact these conditions have on your body. Now, research is showing the damaging effects of arthritis go beyond the joints and can actually increase your risk for heart disease as well. If you already have heart disease its helpful to have your cardiologist and rheumatologist coordinate your care.
