I’ve heard the term “acute coronary syndrome,” but I don’t understand what it means. Is it a heart attack?

Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is a term that encompasses three separate diagnoses: unstable angina (UA), non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) and ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). ST elevation is a specific finding on an electrocardiogram.
