While there remains no cure for Alzheimers disease (AD), a recent study shows that a variety of heart medications can significantly slow the diseases progression. Another, separate study shows that people with cardiovascular disease demonstrated sharper declines in cognitive function than their heart-healthy peers. By extension, then, in taking good care of your heart you may also be preventing or delaying the onset of AD and other forms of mental impairment.
