For many of us, winter is a time of delicious excess. Starting with Thanksgiving, we tend to eat too much food and too much of the wrong foods. We overindulge in rich, sweet treats and alcoholic beverages, while exercising less. By the time spring rolls around, our blood sugar and blood cholesterol levels have risen, and our clothes feel uncomfortably tight.
