Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is usually treated with anticoagulant medications such as warfarin (Coumadin). AFib is the uncoordinated beating of the hearts upper chambers (atria), which allows blood to pool in the heart. The result can be a blood clot that could leave the heart and eventually cause a stroke.
