Studies have not found any connection between statins and increased risk of breast cancer or any other cancer. On the contrary, statins might offer some protection against breast cancer. A retrospective study of 68,000 women presented at the 2006 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) found statin use was associated with a decreased incidence of breast cancer in women age 50 and older.
