New Path for Treating Coronary Artery Disease Discovered

Two clinical studies released in 2005 showed that intensive statin therapy also reduced inflammation, as measured by high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (CRP) levels. The study authors felt strongly that the results of these trials could not be explained by LDL-lowering alone, and that the reduction in inflammation was responsible for improved outcomes.
