Options for Atrial Fibrillation

I have recurrent atrial fibrillation (AF) on beta-blockers but when they occur I feel very poorly. My doctor has discussed drug therapy and ablation. Which is better? I have chronic atrial fibrillation, but cannot take blood thinners due to recurrent bleeding. Are there alternatives to reduce stroke?
