Many seniors take multiple medications, often for more than one medical condition. For example, the average heart failure patient takes seven prescription medi-cations, three of them more than once a day. Additionally, 60% have five or more other conditions that may require prescriptions. They may take vitamins, supplements and over-the-counter (OTC) medications, as well. That’s a lot of pills to keep track of.
